Spoti-FLY

I’m sure you’ve heard of Spotify before, possibly the greatest, most convenient digital music streamer (but I may be a little biased).  My favorite Spotify feature is being able to create different playlists for whatever mood I’m in or whatever activity I’m doing (listening to “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers while I’m working out just doesn’t cut it for me).

Personally, I prefer Spotify to Pandora because Spotify can play songs on demand.  I mean, there are only so many times you can hit the “skip” button on Pandora anyway!  And when you want music of the same genre to stream endlessly (like Pandora), there’s the Spotify radio feature.  As a Spotify Campus Influencer, my job is to spread the awareness of Spotify around campus.  Most people know about Spotify, but not everyone knows all the features available on it.

Now that I’ve successfully sounded like one of those people who stop you in the middle of the mall and try to sell you some type of hand lotion, go ahead and sign up with the links below.

Sign up for FREE Spotify here (I recommend this for all broke college kids): http://spoti.fi/16N60Au

Sign up for Spotify PREMIUM here (No ads AND offline streaming on both your laptop and phone, but hopefully you’re on work-study because you have to pay $9.99/month): http://spoti.fi/17ddn1f

Rent the Runway

Wear a designer dress, look like a million bucks (without actually spending that much), then return the dress- except it’s actually allowed this time!

Rent the Runway is a company, created by Harvard Business School classmates Jennifer Hyman and Jennifer Fleiss, designed to provide girls with the perfect designer outfit, but not for the same, insane designer prices. “Find it, book it, wear it, return it” are the four easy steps the website outlines for shoppers.

As a Campus Influencer for Spotify, one of our many responsibilities is forming partnerships and sponsoring various events on campus.  As my first campus event, Spotify will be sponsor Rutgers University’s FIRST Rent the Runway Trunk Show on Monday, October 28th at 6 PM.  A friend and fellow Campus Influencer, David, assisted in the planning of the sponsorship.  As sponsors, we will be providing the music (5 hours worth to be exact) via Spotify playlist- just call me DJ Roxy Dee.  Check out our Rent the Runway playlist!

To prepare for this event, we had to constantly keep in contact with our Spotify supervisors.  We had to put in requests for more Spotify swag to give out (with free stuff, you can never go wrong) and a request for a Spotify Premium code, which for those of you who don’t know, allows you to stream music without an Internet connection and without advertisements in between songs.  Along with sending us extra koozies and other swag, Spotify also sent us a HUGE fly banner to further promote the brand and help us stand out among the other sponsors (L’Oreal is the only other brand sponsor).

Not only am I excited to spread awareness of Spotify, but I also get to try on awesome dresses from Vera Wang and Badgley Mischka while helping out a good cause since all proceeds go to Embrace Kids Foundation & Children’s Miracle Network.
